fried green tomato stack | kitchen lush

fried green tomato & pimento cheese stack

July 15, 2015

what's more southern than fried green tomatoes? fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. put them together you'll have a yankee saying ya'll in no time. what i like most about this summer staple is the versatility that comes with making this recipe. the tomatoes can be stacked, like shown here, or ,cut in quarters and served as appetizers, or feel free to just dive in and eat the pimento cheese with a spoon. (i mean, i don't judge).

roasted baby beets and rainbow chard with lemon and goat cheese

June 10, 2015

aesthetically, not the most appealing dish in the book, but flavorfully, it's a mic-drop moment. but hey, that's just a part of cooking. sometimes, the not-so-photogenic  meals taste the best, so never apologize for a dish that's just having a bad maybelline moment.

april showers bring may pancakes. that's how the saying goes, right? well, being just less than a week away from mother's day it sure does. If you're anything like me, you strive to make certain that your mom knows just how much you love and appreciate her on this one day (but let's be honest--it really should be every day!) i know my mom deserves the moon for all she does, and i only hope one day i can live up to the example she's set. so, without further adieu, here is a recipe that has been adapted from my own family recipe to include the most incredible addition of raspberry preserves thanks to the good folks at bonne maman, and is sure to knock mom's socks off next sunday.

my coworker and i recently were in houston for a conference. what does houston boast besides being the birth city of beyonce? it just so happens that they've also got a little taste of atl in the mix with a new restaurant called state of grace by ford fry. so naturally, bey + ford fry food = yeah, we had to go.
